BACKGROUND: History
PERSONALITY: Ichigo Kurosaki is somebody who can easily come across as just another punk. Bleached hair, a bad attitude, a tendancy to start and finish fights, he's a guy who doesn't really seem like he's going places in life. Of course, that's only for anybody who doesn't actually know him. In fact, he's incredibly compassionate- most of the fights he picks are to protect the weak from bullies. His bad manners and lack of respect for authority figures hide an unrelenting dedication to his friends and loved ones. His punk look? Something he was born with, and as a result he studies twice as hard as anyone else just to show that he's more than his looks. Most importantly, while he might not outright admit it, when push comes to shove he's remarkably selfless. In short, Ichigo Kurosaki is nothing short of hero material, to the core.
You can't talk about Ichigo without talking about the supernatural. As far back as he can remember and for reasons that are only revealed much later in the plot, he's had the ability to see ghosts and spirits. He was already the sort of person who would pick a fight with street-punks just because they disrespected a child-ghost's memorial. Eventually, this sensitivity results in his witnessing the existend of Shinigami and monsterous soul-eating Hollows. When his family is threatened, he doesn't hesitate a second to throw himself into the fight, ultimately accepting Shinigami powers of his own (despite being told it was more likely the process would just kill him) to protect the people he loves. This becomes something of a trend, any time his family or friends are threatened in any way he drops everything to risk not only his life but his soul's existence to save them. This attitude goes even beyond his close friends. While his friends and family are the single most important things to him, he’s quick to put himself in direct harms way even to protect a complete stranger. In his own words, “I can’t talk big like I’m gonna protect every single person in the world or anything like that… but I’m not short sighted enough to say it’s fine to just protect people right in front of me, either! I’m gonna protect a whole mountain of people!!”
That isn't to say he's just a complete selfless martyr. The other half of his personality is an intense sense of pride. He doesn't change his look to try to blend in and seem like less of a punk himself because that's who he is. Once he gains his powers, they also become part of who he is, and he feels an intense need to make himself stronger. Strong enough to protect everything that matters to him, and strong enough to overcome any odds that he might face, on his own terms. Not to say he's unwilling to accept help- his friends mean everything to him and he's happy to rely on them as much as they rely on him, but ultimately it's critical to him that he's able to finish anything he starts. It's this sense of pride that drives him to surpass every opponent, to accept no alternative except for complete victory in any fight.
POWERS/ABILITIES:
Shinigami Powers- Ichigo is able to fight as a spiritual being outside of his body, and possesses massive spiritual power, mainly manifested as the sword he carries.
Zanpakuto- His sword (Zangetsu) represents the embodyment of his powers and is what allows him to fight at a high level. He has various upgrade forms that manifest through the course of the series.
Hollow Form- He has access to certain hollow powers in addition to his Shinigami powers, includuing a hollow-mask which greatly amplifies his abilities.
Quincy Powers- passive powers inherited unknowingly from his ancestors. He does not consciously control these.
NOTE: As a Shounen Jump main character, I acknowledge that Ichigo in canon is frankly OP as hell. I'm happy to play these at a reasonable, not-game breaking level.

Shinigami Badge- Allows him to access his Shinigami Form
Zanpakuto- His spirit sword, usable only in Shinigami Form. (Technically a part of his soul)
